Elmhurst
Originaly named Cottage Hill after the Tavern the community was built around. The community changed it's name to Elmhurst in 1869. Then in 1871, the Elmhurst College (now Elmhurst Univerity) was established, and Elmhurst was officially incorporated as a village in 1882. Later, with the construction of the first DuPage County Hospital, Elmhurst became a central location in the DuPage County Illinois area. Today, the City of Elmhurst is also home to beautiful Wilder Park, the Wilder Park Conservatory and the Elmhurst Center for Performing Arts.
